I fell in love with a Canon!

I know it isn't proper to fall completely head-over-heels in love with an inanimate object, but I don't care. I've talked about buying a camera for years. Of course, that's all I've done... talk, talk, talk and more talk! Something always seemed to come up and there never seemed to be enough money in the bank to justify such a splurge.

So for this year for my birthday in February I asked the hubs not to buy me a gift. I really didn't want another pair of shoes or yet another fantastic purse (well, I did, but that's normal). Instead, I asked him to cover the difference between whatever funds my family members gave me and then I could finally buy a camera.

And the hubs listened!

Then, me being me I waited and waited to make my purchase. I heard that Canon was going to introduce a new camera in the Rebel line and the camera would launch in early April. I did my research and decided I wanted to be a full-fledged technology innovator and to buy the latest and greatest camera.

Now, as a practical person there was no way I could buy a camera without seeing it in person. Yeah, stores in my area had the camera in stock, but they didn't have any floor models. Certain stores weren't cool opening a box if I wasn't ready to purchase said camera on the spot!

Two weeks ago a new H.H.Gregg store opened in Towson and on their shelf was a very new and untouched Canon T2i!!!! I picked her up and played around. The hubs told me to buy right then and there.

My response, "no way dude! I can buy online from B&H Photo and not have to pay sales tax! For this expensive of a purchase that six percent adds up!"

Sure enough, I was right! Then, there was a rebate on the kit lens, so it only cost $50 to get it. I figured it would be a good lens to practice getting used to my precious love.

I'm still getting the hang of her, but I'm so excited to see where we go on our journey together. I've already convinced the hubs that I should rent a wide angle lens to take on our vacation next month!!!

No, you shouldn't take pictures in a dimly lit room at 9:30pm, but I was too excited. 1600 iso and my yellow roses look pretty darn good!!!

I brought my lover to the hub's softball game tonight and let my friend Paul take her for a spin. He shoots Canon as well and as an extensive collection of L lenses I can't wait to try! We're going to have a camera date at the next sunny softball game. Needless to say, Jax is getting left at home because we don't want a hyper puppy playing around the expensive equipment!
